THE TRUTH ON TRIAL AT THE AFN ELECTIONS PETITION TRIBUNAL.

Ernest Osogbue

Since the election of Mr. Innocent Iheme, as the Southeast representative on the AFN board, on Tuesday, 3rd June, 2025, a lot has happened. With the NSC Director General, Bukola Olopade, and the AFN president, Tonobok Okowa, supporting Mr. Victor Okorie, who is ineligible, and wanting him on the board at any cost, they have been unwilling to accept defeat.

After investing millions of Naira in Okorie’s election, and failing, due to the popularity of Iheme, the top sports officials are now willing to do anything to have their way.

In a frivolous move, Okorie petitioned the AFN elections petition tribunal, which will be sitting later today, claiming that there was violence at the election venue. Recall that there’s a petition challenging the eligibility of Victor Okorie to stand for any election in the AFN, having been declared bankrupt in the United States by a court of competent jurisdiction. Despite that, there’s a concerted effort to install him as the Southeast representative, possibly as a means to his financial rehabilitation, at the expense of Nigeria and Nigerians.

Kjnnetwork.com, which has keenly followed the southeast election, has access to both visual and audio evidence of the peaceful conduct of the southeast election, as well as other materials showing that the election was conducted without rancor. Conversely, forged documents, and doctored videos, purported to have been issued by some southeast state governments are in circulation. A careful observer would notice discrepancies in the signatures on the documents. This leads to the conclusion that powerful forces beyond the truth are interested in illegally installing Victor Okorie as the Southeast representative on the AFN board.

Over the years, the challenge has been that officials put in place to make public organizations efficient, turn around to use their positions for personal aggrandizement. They use the offices as a personal fiefdom to push their nefarious interests. That is the reason why most Nigerians are disillusioned and keep wondering when and how our country will ever get it right.

With the attitude of some government appointees, it is obvious that they believe that the office they occupy is personal rather than for national development. Kjnnetwork.com is on the ground, watching and waiting for the outcome of events at the election petitions tribunal, where the same petition challenging the eligibility of Victor Okorie has equally been forwarded.

Stay tuned to these pages as the truth goes on trial. We hope and pray that just as individuals use their positions to destroy Nigeria, there are also courageous individuals who stand for the truth for the betterment of our country irrespective of the consequences to themselves.

We hope that the truth and Nigeria will emerge victorious. May God bless our fatherland!
