THE CAPTURE OF VENEZUELAN PRESIDENT NICOLAS MADURO AND THE LESSONS FOR THOSE IN POWER.

Ernest Osogbue.

It is ironic that as US security operatives were storming the bedroom of Venezuelan strongman Nicolas Maduro and capturing him and his wife, without much resistance from the Venezuelan security forces, one of America’s most notorious double agents, Aldrich Ames, was taking his last breath in a federal correctional facility in Cumberland, Maryland, USA. Ames had been sentenced to life imprisonment without parole in 1994, for leaking American secrets to the Soviet Union between 1985 and 1994.

Ames and his wife, were caught after having received monies in excess of $2.5 million, with which they financed a lavish lifestyle, in exchange for the secrets Ames provided the Russians as a senior CIA operative. The irony of his death as a double agent, especially, the timing, coincided with the activities of the Venezuelan military and security personnel, charged with protecting President Maduro, but who turned and helped America gain access to him and his missus without much resistance. So, while Ames was breathing his last, and dying at the ripe old age of 84 in an American prison, Venezuelan double agents like him, were equally betraying their country to America for a mess of pottage.

Across the world, since after news broke of the audacious capture of Nicolas Maduro by American security forces, many have been wondering how the US military pulled off such a bold and successful operation; capturing the president of another country from right inside his bedroom while asleep with his wife, without a single loss of life on the American side. Information is now emerging that despite the supposedly smooth running of the operation, it actually took months of meticulous planning before its execution.

According to information available to kjnnetwork.com CIA operatives had worked behind the scenes, night and day, for several months in order to bring the operation to fruition. Knowing that going into another country guns ablazing, as President Trump, may prefer, would have resulted in heavy casualty figures on either side, it was therefore, decided to find a subtle avenue of penetrating the Venezuelan defenses at the lowest risk. Having agreed on this, the Americans finally settled on good old ‘bribery’ as their best option. It was believed that no matter how tight the Maduro chain may be, there would always be a weak link.

The Americans then had to identify members of the elite guards division in charge of Maduro’s security, and anyone who would be willing to compromise either due to blackmail or financial inducements. After months of tentative approaches, through friends, family members, and acquaintances, a senior officer in the elite guards, was identified as being willing to play ball. This officer had a daughter who was down with a debilitating illness, with the officers income, inadequate to cover her medical expenses. The Americans smelt blood, and moved in. Promises of better medical care, millions of dollars in the bank, as well as safe passage for the officer and his family to the US, with possible new identities for a new and better life were made.

The officer swallowed the bait, with the assurances, that he would also convince other disillusioned members of the presidential guard to fall in with him. These turncoat officers, along with other compromised colleagues, were able to provide US operatives with intelligence on the positions of Venezuelan forces, and the real time location of President Maduro. With everything in place, President Trump put one final call to President Maduro, asking him to step down from office, but Maduro remained defiant. After a few days of weather disruptions, the US meteorological services, on Saturday January 3rd, finally predicted a clement weather over Venezuela. President Trump ultimately gave his assent, and Operation Absolute Resolve was underway.

When US forces arrived at the Maduro residence, they encountered very little resistance, almost like a walk in the park, as they tapped Maduro awake from the arms of his wife, which was wrapped around him. For a brief moment, Maduro thought it was a joke, or a mock military exercise, as he saw his trusted security officers standing alongside US operatives. As he wiped sleep from his eyes in bewilderment, the Americans sharply handcuffed him and his equally unbelieving missus, and whisked them away.

It becomes clear, that the people Maduro had trusted the most, and who had been with him for years as his security details, as he changed location from place to place, and from time to time, were the same people who sold him out. This proves that there’s always a weak link in a chain. Maduro believed that promoting officers ahead of their peers was enough to buy their loyalty. He equally believed that placing them in his elite security division would give them pride and engender their patriotic zeal. Unfortunately, he forgot that they had pecuniary needs which a government pay could not cover. Just like the American traitor, Aldrich Ames, the Venezuelan officers chose self over their nation and surrendered their president without as much as a shot being fired in the Maduro residence.

For us at kjnnetwork.com this is a big lesson for leaders, and persons in privileged positions. They must always remember that as much as they think that their security is watertight, there would always be a chink in the armor, a weak link in the chain, someone who would be willing, for personal gain, to surrender their honor for a mess of traitorous pottage. There comes a point in human nature when a man must make a choice between his wellbeing and his honor, and most often than not, when confronted with such a difficult choice, most men would usually choose their wellbeing.

This lesson is for everyone in a position of power, wealth, or leadership, who has people in his employ in charge of either his security, welfare, or other needs. You can not be rich, powerful and secure, with poor people who could easily be compromised being responsible for your protection. Maduro was bragging against America, and daring Donald Trump, unknown to him, the daughter of his senior security aide had medical needs for which his salary could not cover. Always be sure to know the details of the lives and secrets of those closest to you when you’re in power. In the final analysis, what this proves is that a rich and powerful man being protected and guarded by poor people is actually not safe.
