It has emerged that the 2,800 athletes participating at the Olympic Winter Games in Milan Cortina, Italy, have been very active, both on and off the snow. According to reports monitored by kjnnetwork.com, thousands of condoms distributed by the IOC, and placed at strategic points in the athletes village, have disappeared, is with the athletes asking for more.
Mark Adams the International Olympics Committee spokesperson, in a chat with journalists on Sunday morning, soon after the marking of St. Valentine’s day, said the 10,000 condoms distributed by the IOC at the athletes village, have been exhausted by the athletes. Rather than be angry about the development, the IOC seems happy about it, and is encouraging athletes to fraternize and remain active, as long as it doesn’t affect their performances.
Myth has it that sex before a sporting activity is beneficial to females and detrimental to males. Research however, shows that sexual activity 10-12 hours before an event, may improve performances in both sexes, by helping with stress relief, relaxation and focus. It remains to be seen how many world records would be broken by the athletes following their increased sexual activities.
For now, Norway still leads the medals table with 11 gold, 6 silver, and 7 bronze medals, hosts Italy are second with 8 gold, 4 silver, and 10 bronze medals, while the US stays third on 5 gold, 8 silver, and 4 bronze medals. The African search for a Winter Olympics medal continues, as has been the case since the inaugural Winter Games in 1924.
