BUS DRIVER SACKED FOR WEARING LIVERPOOL JERSEY AT STAMFORD BRIDGE.

A 21 year old London bus driver Isaac Ullah, has lost his job, following an incident involving him and Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge on Saturday during a match between Chelsea and Liverpool.

Ullah, who works for A1 Transport Recruitment, said he woke up on that morning and only had his Liverpool T-shirt as the clean dress to wear. According to him, he was not even aware that he would be driving through Stamford Bridge.

Unfortunately for him, however, he was driving a rail replacement bus, and arrived at the Stamford Bridge area just as excited Chelsea fans were exiting the stadium and celebrating their teams dramatic victory over Liverpool after a 2-1 success.

Estavo had given Chelsea the dramatic win in injury time, sparking wild celebrations. Chelsea fans had been surprised outside the stadium to see a bus driver wearing a Liverpool vest, and so they mobbed the bus, hitting it and chanting at the offending driver.

The incident caused movements to be halted as the bus and the fans blocked the road. Traffic was held up for a significant length of time leading to the police being called in to clear up the situation. Ullah is said to have caused significant disruption by the company which led to his dismissal on Monday.

This goes to show how an innocent action could have unforseen consequences. Ullah, though is taking it in good spirits as he said he will not be suing for wrongful dismissal. The company, however, said that all drivers know their routes in advance and that they are dealing with the matter internally, because due to GDPR, they are unable to comment.
